Danish law inside Claude and ChatGPT

Lovguiden's MCP server gives AI tools direct access to Danish legislation, case law and parliamentary data through 35 tools. A REST API serves companies that build their own products on the same data.

Most people now meet AI inside a handful of tools: Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor. Those tools know a great deal, but not the current text of a Danish statute or last week's ruling from an appeals board. The Model Context Protocol (MCP) closes that gap by letting an AI tool call external services while it answers.

35 tools

Lovguiden's MCP server exposes the service's data as 35 tools, among them search across laws, preparatory works and rulings, a law's amendment history, EU law and cases from Folketinget. The AI tool decides which to call, and the answer rests on the returned material rather than on the model's memory. Adding it to Claude Desktop takes one entry in the configuration file:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "lovguiden": {
      "url": "https://mcp.lovguiden.dk/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

A REST API, priced per call

Companies that build their own products use the REST API at data.lovguiden.dk. Every call is priced, and the price is returned in the response headers. The API is documented with OpenAPI 3.1, and an llms.txt file describes it for AI agents.

The same pattern for company data

An MCP server does not have to serve public data. Placed in front of a document archive, a CRM or a case system, it gives the AI tools employees already use access to what the business actually knows, with access control on every call.

The same approach, for other businesses.

A short description of the task is enough to start the conversation.
